Clay County Authorities Arrest Suspect In High Speed Pursuit That Took Place Back In January

(Spencer)– Clay County authorities say they’ve made an arrest in connection with a high speed pursuit back on January 23rd of this year. The chase reached speeds as high as 115 mph, at which time deputies called it off due to safety concerns.

A subsequent investigation resulted in authorities identifying the suspect as 31-year-old Justin Diggs of Fonda. He was taken into custody shortly after 1:30 am February 26th in Spencer. Diggs was found to be in possession of a meth pipe while he was being arrested and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Diggs was booked into the Clay county jail and was served warrants in connection with the pursuit. Those charges include eluding, speeding, no driver’s license, failure to obey a stop sign, improper use of lanes and improper passing.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer and Fort Dodge Police Departments.
