(Storm Lake)-Tyson Foods is offering free, on-site COVID-19 vaccinations to front line members at it’s Iowa plants, including Storm Lake, this week.
The vaccines are being provided in conjunction with local health departments across the State, where food processing workers are among the priority group now eligible for vaccination.
Tyson officials expect many of the company’s 13-thousand Iowa employees to be vaccinated during events scheduled later this week. In preparation for vaccinations, Tyson Foods has been providing resources and education about the vaccine to team members. This information is available in multiple languages, and team members also have access to a hotline to ask questions.
Tyson Foods also recently announced that it is compensating workers for up to four hours of regular pay if they are vaccinated outside of their normal shift or through an external source.
Tyson Foods says the company continues to experience success in its efforts to protect workers from COVID-19, as cases involving team members remain low.
