(Arnolds Park)-Arnolds Park has announced the 2021 Live at the Lake Concert Series. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
Arnolds Park Amusement Park has announced their Live at the Lake Concert Series lineup.
Marketing Director Paul Plumb says, they are hopeful to be able to have the shows outdoors this summer. “Whether it’s socially distanced or not, you know, last year we did it from mid-season on, and we had to do it socially distanced, so we know we can do that again if we have to. I would hope that by summer that we don’t have to, but if we do, that’s what we’ll do, but just excited to think about some warm weather and great shows out on Preservation Plaza.”
He adds that the first concert will be in early June. “June 5th, Free Fallin’, the Tom Petty Tribute. They’ve been here before and were scheduled to be here last year but were unable to go early in the season last year, and they just put on a really nice show. If you like Tom Petty, for sure show up for that one.”
He notes that the lineup will feature some new bands, as well as some favorite acts. “A fun new event, June 26th the Shirts and Skins band is doing disco night. Some people might know that they’ve been around the area a few times as Shirts and Skins, but this is a new act for them where they’re going to just do the music from the 70s disco style and I think people will really enjoy that. We’ve got Led Zepplica on the 17th of July. They’re out of California, just a real great Led Zeppelin tribute band. The following week, Pet Rock out of Omaha, just another fun band. They’ve got a great following down in Omaha and the Des Moines area, and I know on our post on social media, people are really excited about that one, and then, the weekend right after that, Jon Langston, an up and coming country act that is going to be a really fun show. We’ll round out the year with The Pork Tornadoes and Arch Allies, always a fun show with both of those two. Earlier in the year, A Tribute to Queen, Rock a La Carte is coming back. They put on just a fantastic show last year, couldn’t recommend that one enough if you enjoy the music of Queen, you need to definitely be out there for that show.”
All of the concerts will start at 7:30 at Preservation Plaza and will be free to attend.
