Man From El Salvador Who Had Been Living In NW Iowa Sentenced To Prison For Illegally Reentering The U.S. After Being Deported Six Times

(Sioux City)– An El Salvador man who had been living in Storm Lake has been sentenced in U.S. District Court for illegally reentering the U.S after being deported six times.

31-year-old Rafael Gutierrez-Mancia was sentenced to one year in federal prison after pleading guilty in October of last year to illegally reentering the U.S. After having been deported following a conviction for an aggravated felony.

Gutierrez-Mancia was first deported in September, 2009 after being convicted of identity theft in Buena Vista county. He was convicted four more times after that for illegally re-entering the U.S.
