(Okoboji)-The Okoboji Summer Theatre will not be making their season announcement this weekend, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Okoboji Summer Theatre’s Omelet Fundraiser will not be held during the University of Okoboji Winter Games this year.
Executive Director Ruth Ann Burke says they hope to do something in the spring. “I did speak with the leadership of our Okoboji Summer Theatre Association, and what they’d like to so since the Omelet Breakfast is just not possible during Winter Games weekend, if circumstances allow in the spring, they’d like to do a Memorial Weekend Waffle Breakfast, and we would probably do that on the Okoboji Summer Theatre grounds.”
While the OST normally announces their upcoming season during Winter Games, she says they hopefully can announce in April. “Probably later in the spring, maybe April, to do a season announcement. The longer we wait, the more options we have available to us, so we hope that everybody will continue to be very patient and supportive with us.”
She adds that new artwork will enhance the Boji Bantam Theatre this summer. “We have a potential partnership brewing with Imagine Iowa, and we are in discussions with them about doing a mural on the Boji Bantam building. So, we’re very excited to partner with them. We hope to put a mural on the eastern edge of the Boji Bantam building sometime, probably in June.”
