(Des Moines)– A Spencer man who was serving a life prison sentence for killing his wife has died in prison.
The Iowa Department of Corrections says 89-year-old Harold Duncan died Tuesday of complications related to COVID-19 and other pre-existing medical conditions.
Duncan died in a hospice unit at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Oakdale.
He had been serving a life sentence after a jury convicted him of 1st degree murder in the death of his wife, Karen, in 2003.
