Predicted Blizzard Has One Area Sheriff’s Office Issuing A Warning About Travel

January 14, 2021

(Spencer)– With a possible blizzard in the forecast, one area Sheriff’s Office is urging those with travel plans, especially tonight (Thurs.) and tomorrow (Fri.) to reconsider them.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says anyone who must travel should have blankets, hand warmers, extra clothing, bottled water, snacks, and a cell phone charger with them. And if you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. They say you should also make sure you have enough fuel, and be prepared to spend the night in your vehicle.

Clay county authorities say they will only be responding to emergencies, if conditions allow. And they say if you get stranded, deputies won’t respond until conditions allow.
