(Pocahontas)– A single vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Pocahontas county claimed the life of a woman.
The Iowa State Patrol says 19-year-old Rebecca Hansen of Pocahontas was driving a 2006 Pontiac eastbound on Highway three about 10 miles west of Pocahontas when she lost control of the vehicle. It went into the ditch and rolled. Authorities say Hansen wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Hansen was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Troopers say the crash took place shortly before 2:30 PM Saturday and that it remains under investigation.
