(Lake Park)-A Lake Park family has their huge holiday light display up for the season, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Lueders Family Farm outside of Lake Park is once again lit with some 150,000 lights for the holiday season.
Roxie Lueders says they add more lights every year. “This is probably our 10th year with our big controllers and over the years we’ve just kept adding controllers, more lights, more things that we build every year and put out. It’s fun to see other people’s reaction to it. It’s more for the community, and we hope it brings everybody else an enjoyable holiday, and our grandchildren seem to love it a lot, too, so we do it a lot for them.”
She notes that Santa will be visiting Saturday night from 6-7. “Santa Claus has decided he will still visit us, but this year he’s just going to roam through our yard, around our driveway and visit the cars. He did say he will take pictures with kids if the parents want a pictures with the children, but we’re trying to keep it more socially distanced and they will have candy canes for everyone. So, we encourage everybody to come out and visit with Santa.”
She adds that music accompanies the display. “If you look at the end of our driveway there’s a sign that tells you to tune in to 97.5, which is an FM transmitter on top of our house that transmits out to your car, and you can listen to the music in your car while you watch the lights dance to it.”
