Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce hosting “Santa in the Ville” December 5 & 12

December 01, 2020

(Estherville)-Holiday events are getting underway in Estherville, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

Estherville Area Chamber launches Holi-Yay Cheer Campaign

The Estherville Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local shopping with their Holi-Yay Cheer Campaign.

Executive Director Lexie Ruter explains.  “We have a bunch of participating Chamber Member businesses, restaurants and stores in Estherville, and if you shop or eat at those places and spend over $20, you get to register your name from now until December 21st, and then the week of Christmas we’ll be drawing for lots of fun prizes including tons of gift certificates and there will be dozens of winners.”

She adds that children can enjoy Santa in the Ville over the next couple of weekends.  “We’re very excited, Santa is coming to Estherville this weekend and next weekend, so December 5th and December 12th from 1 to 4 in the afternoon.  We have Santa’s little vacation home that is always parked in Library Square during the holiday season, and Santa is going to come and he’s going to hang out on his front porch during those times.  The kids are going to be able to come and talk to him outside from a safe distance, be able to take their picture with Santa and be able to give them their list if they have one ready for him.  So, it will be a good opportunity to get to see Santa face to face while still being in a safe and fun environment, and masks are required.”
