Graettinger Man Wanted On Theft Charges Taken Into Custody

December 01, 2020

(Emmetsburg)– A Graettinger man wanted on theft charges was taken into custody Sunday.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Troy Petersen was wanted on two warrants. One stemmed from an investigation into car burglaries that occurred in September of this year in Emmetsburg and Graettinger. The warrant charged Petersen with one count of ongoing criminal conduct and 10 counts of burglary in the 3rd degree. Bond was set at $12,000 cash only.

Authorities say the second warrant stemmed from an investigation into a theft that took place in September of this year in Graettinger. That warrant charges Petersen with one count of theft in the 5th degree and one count of criminal mischief in the 5th degree. Bond was set at $750 unsecured signature.

Petersen was unable to post bond and was booked into the Palo Alto county jail.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted in making the arrest.
