(Spencer)– Spencer-based Seasons Center for Behavioral Health has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Tilligen Community Initiative, a private Iowa-based charitable foundation.
Kim Scorza, CEO/President of Seasons Center, says the funds will go toward the purchase of a 15-passenger van to support mobile behavioral health clinics that will serve counties within their service area.
Scorza says the project, known as “Wellness Wagon”, is intended to serve individuals and families experiencing increased anxiety, depression, substance abuse/addiction and other behavioral health needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and issues related to food insecurities, unemployment and other matters.
Seasons Center was one of only 18 entities selected out of 303 applicants in Iowa and Illinois for grants awarded by the initiative.
