November 30, 2020

(Spencer)– Authorities in Clay county say charges are pending in connection with a single vehicle crash Friday that injured a man from Webb.

The Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Gregory Hoover was driving a 2005 Ford pickup northbound in the 3500 mile of 280th Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, which came to rest in a ditch.

Deputies say Hoover wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and sustained head and neck injuries. He was taken to Spencer Hospital.

The pickup was totaled.

Dickens Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance Service assisted on the scene.

The crash took place around 8:30 am and is still under investigation.
