“Well we do want people to stay hydrated. That’s one of the main reasons that folks are coming to the hospital to be evaluated or even to be hospitalized is due to dehydration. So we want people to be sure that they’re drinking plenty of fluids, 8 to 12 glasses of water or fluid a day, we want them to rest, and you know that’s important to make your immune system respond better as your fighting covid, and we definitely want them to eat well even though you may not have an appetite, food is fuel and it’s very important in your healing process.”

Rossiter says the goal is to try to keep as many people as possible from being hospitalized as their resources are being strained…Covid Home Care02

“If folks can take care of themselves at home, that’s great. Obviously if you’re having any difficulty breathing your symptoms are getting such you need medical care, obviously we want folks to do that. But if you can take care of yourself at home and stay hydrated, stay nourished, rest and get through this virus at home, we support that and hopefully we can keep you out of the hospital.”

Rossiter adds symptoms vary dramatically from one person to another and that some still can be very sick on day six or even longer.
