(Prighar)– Public health officials in O’Brien county are putting out an urgent plea as that county currently has the highest positivity rate in the state of Iowa. As of today (Friday) it stood at 23.4 percent.
The O’Brien County Healthcare Coalition is pleading with residents to wear masks in public public spaces of all businesses and in outdoor public areas when it isn’t possible to maintain physical distancing.
They are also urging everyone to keep their distance at events and gatherings, adding it’s best to avoid crowded places and gatherings where it may be difficult to stay at least six feet away from others who are not from your household. They say that if you ARE in a crowded space you should try to keep six feet of space between yourself and others at all times, and wear a mask.
The coalition says the increase is impacting healthcare facilities and agencies in O’Brien county.
