(Des Moines)– The state of Iowa today (Wed.) is reporting yet another record high number of people hospitalized with COVID-19. The state’s website was showing that number stood at 596 as of 10:00 am this (Wed.), up from 564 on Tuesday.
The Department of Public Health also reported 1,814 new cases and 22 additional deaths, for a total of 1,680 since the pandemic began.
The surge in cases is continuing locally as well. Dickinson county was among those with the greatest increase over the previous day, with 18 new cases reported and two additional deaths. Dickinson county’s death toll from the virus now stands at eight.
