Not Guilty Plea Entered In Deadly O’Brien County UTV Crash

October 24, 2020

(Primghar, IA)  —  A northwest Iowa man will stand trial in January for a drunken driving crash that killed the driver of a utility terrain vehicle in O’Brien County.

41-year-old Joshua Mahler of Sutherland pleaded not guilty to O-W-I charges in the death of 61-year-old Jerry Schueller last October.

A six- and eight-year-old boy riding with Schueller were injured.  Deputies say an S-U-V driven by Mahler broadsided Schueller’s U-T-V on the night of October 6th, 2019.  Court documents say Mahler showed signs of impairment and his blood and urine tests were positive for drugs.
