Dickinson County Sees Substantial Increase In COVID Cases

(Des Moines)– The state of Iowa continues to see a surge in COVID-19 cases, with 1,401 being reported over the past 24 hour period ending at 10:00 am this (Thurs.). There were 15 additional deaths bringing the state’s death toll to 1,594.

530 Iowans were hospitalized with the virus as of this (Thurs.) morning with 135 in intensive care. Of those, 53 were on ventilators.

Locally, Dickinson county is reporting 15 new cases today (Thurs.), while O’Brien county topped the list with the biggest increase, reporting 23 new cases. Emmet and Clay counties each reported nine new cases. Three additional deaths were reported today (Thurs.) in Emmet county for a total of 17. Osceola county reported eight new cases today (Thurs.).
