(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present Rock a La Carte at Oktoberfest this coming weekend, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced the addition of Rock a La Carte to the the lineup of festivities at the University of Okoboji Oktoberfest on Saturday.
Executive Director Clay Norris explains. “We were approached to see if we had interest in providing a band for Oktoberfest, and we really wanted to do that. It’s such a great event for the community and I think people are ready to get outside and enjoy this nice fall weather in a safe atmosphere. So, we contacted Rock a La Carte and they were pleased to perform. They’re going to be on stage a little after 4 o’clock on Saturday.”
He adds that the Association will be offering specials during the Vendor Show on Saturday. “So, we made a decision that if people will become a member of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association and sign up on Saturday, we’ll give a 10 percent discount to get involved with our association. We’re going to give a 30 percent discount on all merchandise.”
He notes that free will donations for the band will be accepted at the booth. “We’d appreciate donations, it does cost to bring the bands in, and a band of that level and quality. What we’re going to do to make it easy for people, is we’re going to have a donation container right at our vendor booth.”
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum will open from 11 to 5 on Saturday during Oktoberfest.
