(Sibley)– An outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in Sibley-Ocheyedan canceling it’s homecoming game scheduled for Friday night with Emmetsburg.
In a news release, Superintendent James Craig says the school’s football team is short many players due to quarantine and that coaches were concerned they wouldn’t have enough players to safely participate in the game. Craig says the game will not be rescheduled.
It was also announced Homecoming activities at Sibley-Ocheyedan are being postponed to the winter sports season. That came at the request of the homecoming court. Members were concerned classmates may not be able to participate and that more could be forced to miss out as the week continues, with more students going into quarantine.
