Burn Ban Now In Affect For Emmet County

August 31, 2020

(Estherville)– Another county in the region has put a burn ban in place due to the ongoing dry conditions.

The ban in Emmet county went into affect at midnight last (Sun.) night and continues until further notice.

A similar ban is in place in Clay county.

Emmet County Emergency Management Coordinator Travis Sheridan filed the request with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Some rain did fall across the region early today (Mon.) but authorities say it wasn’t enough to relieve the ongoing drought conditions and fire danger. No other rain is in the forecast the rest of the week.
