(Spencer)– Clay county 4-H members will be displaying their achievements in a unique way this year. Jo Engel of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Clay county says they had to think outside the box in coming up with an alternative way to display the exhibits…
“This is a unique opportunity since there is no Clay County Fair, no place for those exhibits to be displayed for the fairgoers, we are going to have an opportunity for the youth to bring their exhibits to Arts On Grand. There’s a few other business windows that they’re going to be displayed in but you just need to contact me. They’re going to be set up on September 10th. They will be on display during that traditional week of the Clay County Fair so people can come in and take a look at them or walk down Grand and look in the windows and just check it out.”
Engel says they will also still be having their can structure display this year even in the absence of the Clay County Fair…
“It’s a tradition that many people at the Fair love to see and this year they’re going to be out at the South Park Mall in the Schwezer’s store. So make sure you come out and take a look at that. The set up is going to be the week before for 4-Her’s and for people that would like to come and look at it, please do. And also remember you can vote for your favorite structure again this year.”
More information on either the achievement or can structure displays can be obtained by contacting Engel at the Clay County Extension Office.
