August 26, 2020

(Royal)– Clean up operations are getting underway following an explosion Tuesday at the Ag Partners elevator in Royal.

Crews have started removing corn and beans from the badly damaged elevator after an assessment by a structural engineer.

No one was hurt in the blast that happened around 3:20 pm. The force of the explosion blew a hole out of one of the concrete silos.

There’s been no word yet as to what caused or sparked the blast.

Authorities are requesting people stay out of the area surrounding the elevator while clean-up operations are underway.
