(Pocahontas)– A man was seriously injured Tuesday after being struck by a dump truck in Pocahontas county.
The Iowa State Patrol says 47-year-old Alfred Crosson of Centerville was driving the truck and was attempting to make a 3-point turn when he backed into a man who was doing some spotting for him. He was identified as 55-year-old Cecil Green of Knoxville, Iowa.
Green was seriously injured and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Sioux City.
Troopers say Crosson couldn’t see Green in any of his mirrors.
The mishap took place a little after 9:00 am in a construction zone at the intersection of Highway 7 and Pocahontas County Road N-28 near Fonda.
