(Lakefield, Mn.)– A loss of water pressure after the town’s water tower ran dry earlier today (Sunday) has resulted in the issuance of a boil advisory for those living in Lakefield.
City officials say the loss of pressure may have resulted in the possibility of bacteria contaminating the water supply.
Residents are being told to bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for purposes such as drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation.
City officials say additional well pumps are being brought in to re-fill the water tower and that additional chlorine is being added in the treatment process.
They add the boil advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
