(Arnolds Park)-A new event will be added to the U of O Oktoberfest this fall, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the addition of an Outdoor Vendor Show to the University of Okoboji Oktoberfest, which is slated for September 26th.
Director of Membership and Events Kiley Zankowski explains. “We’re looking at adding more events in growing the University of Okoboji Oktoberfest. It’s the 29th year for the bike ride, it’s the 3rd year for the festival, and we thought it would be alot of fun to have an outdoor vendor show. I know Art in the Park and the Farmer’s Market have been such huge hits, and what better way to let people showcase their products and services in the area while also socially distancing for this year’s vendor show.”
She notes that Oktoberfest includes many other activities. “The Bike Ride starts at 10 o’clock, and noon to 4 is when we’ll have all sorts of different activities. We’re going to have live music for you again this year from Shirts and Skins, the Amusement Park is going to bring some of their rides out to Preservation Plaza, we’re adding the Vendor Show and we’ve got the Bean Bag Tournament sponsored by KUOO. We’ve also got the Stein Holding Competition and the Keg Toss, all sorts of fun for you to to enjoy outside with the beautiful fall weather we have in the area.”
