(Jackson, Mn.)– Charges have been filed against an Eldora, Iowa man following a pursuit that started in Dickinson county and ended in Jackson county.
A Milford resident reported Thursday that after returning from shopping her vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Impala, was missing. A Milford police officer viewed surveillance footage and identified a suspect.
Around 12:45 pm, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Dickinson county authorities that the stolen vehicle was headed for Jackson county. Around the same time, another motorist observed a Chevrolet Impala go into the ditch on a road in Dickinson county and reported a possible drunk driver.
The motorist followed the vehicle and gave location updates to both Sheriff’s Departments. Jackson county deputies were able to locate the vehicle after it entered Jackson county and attempted to pull it over. The vehicle fled north on township roads. It eventually stopped on 770th Avenue just west of County Road 17.
The driver and only occupant in the vehicle, 23-year-old Kristopher Kruger of Eldora, was arrested and charged with fleeing a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. Additional charges are pending from Dickinson county.
The Lakefield Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Milford Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the investigation.
The vehicle sustained heavy front end damage from going into the ditch in Dickinson county.
