(Spencer)– Seven cases of COVID-19 are being reported at an assisted living center in Spencer. Five residents and two staff members were recently confirmed to have the virus.
While the state of Iowa releases the names of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities where outbreaks have been reported, it does not list those of assisted living facilities. However, the administrator at Riverview Terrace in Spencer has confirmed that’s where the cases have been reported.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reports outbreaks at 28 long-term care facilities currently. 18 cases have been reported at Prairie View Home in Sanborn with 52 cases at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.
