(Undated)– Primary elections were held yesterday across Minnesota as party voters helped set the ballot for the general election in November.
There are two local races contested. In Minnesota House District 23A, Republican endorsed candidate Bjorn Olson defeated Michael Sukulski to try an fill the seat of long time Representative Bob Gunther, who has retired after 25 years of service.
In Senate District 22, DFLer’s chose Shawna Marshall over Roger Elgersma for their candidate. Marshall will face Republican State Senator Bill Weber in November.
For US House District 7, former Lt. Governor Michelle Fischbach easily won the Republican Primary and will face DFL Representative Collin Peterson.
And Jason Lewis won the Republican Primary for the US Senate and will now take on US Senator Tina Smith in the general election in November.
