(Rock Rapids)– A two-vehicle collision Tuesday on Highway 9 near Larchwood in Lyon county sent one person to the hospital.
Authorities say 68-year-old Bernard VandeWeerd of Sibley was driving a 2009 Honda CRV southbound on Highway 9 and 17-year-old Jonah Davis of Larchwood was driving a 1990 Mercury eastbound on a county road. Authorities say Davis had stopped at the intersection and pulled into the path of the vehicle driven by VandeWeerd.
A passenger in the vehicle driven by VandeWeerd was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with minor injuries.
Davis was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, improper performance ability of motor vehicle brakes and minor using tobacco.
