(Sanborn)– An outbreak of COVID-19 is being reported at another long term care facility in the area.
Officials with O’Brien County Public Health say they have identified 14 cases of the virus at Prairie View in Sanborn. The Iowa Department of Public Health identifies an outbreak as three or more cases among residents of a facility.
In a statement, Prairie View officials say they’ve been in contact with family members and are doing everything possible to ensure they stop the spread of the virus and have activated emergency response procedures. They add they are working closely with local and state health officials. Visitors are being restricted from the facility and all group activities have been cancelled.
