A Reminder Of Some Special Opportunities To Get Some Clay County Fair Food Beginning Tuesday (Aug. 4th)

August 03, 2020

(Spencer)– You’ll have your first chance to get some Clay County Fair food tomorrow evening with the first “Takeout Tuesday” event at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Jeremy Parsons, General Manager of the Clay County Fair, says a certain nonprofit group will be featured each week beginning tomorrow (Tues.) with Hy-Noon Kiwanis…Fair Food Events01

“Starting Tuesday, August 4th, 4:00 to 7:00 pm. This week you’ll be able to drive through the fairgrounds, pick up that hot beef sundae from the Hy-Noon Kiwanis as well as one of their buckets of cookies. It’s a drive-through event. It’s pretty simple. Drive out to the fairgrounds, drive through the line, pick up that hot beef sundae and support the Hy-Noon Kiwanis. Buy that bucket of cookies,  continue to support the Hy-Noon Kiwanis and it will just be a great evening.”

Parsons says you’ll have another opportunity for fair food this coming weekend at the Clay County Fairgrounds…Fair Food Events02

“A little difference from a drive through event. You’ll be able to park and walk up but we’re going to have six of your favorite Clay County Fair food vendors set up, and so this is your two day weekend, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday, that’s August 7th and 8th. They’re there. Cheese curds, turkey legs, corn dogs, barbecue, the list goes on and on.”

Parsons reminds everyone the events are strictly drive-through and that there will be no seating or restrooms available on the grounds.

He says they came up with the idea to assist non profits after the decision was made not to have the fair this year due to COVID-19 concerns. A portion of the profits will also go to the Clay County Fair itself to help with ongoing maintenance and other costs.
