July 27, 2020

(Jackson, Mn.)– The pandemic has resulted in some major, last minute changes for a county fair in the area.

In a statement released Friday, the Jackson County Fair has cancelled all entertainment events. The Statement Reads…”Due to additional guidelines enacted by the MN Attorney General’s office in conjunction with Executive Order 20-81, the Jackson County Agricultural Society has made the difficult decision today to cancel all entertainment events at the 2020 Jackson County Fair and focus on youth livestock and non livestock competitions.”

Jackson County youth livestock competitions for poultry, rabbits, sheep, meat goats, beef, horses and swine will be held on their normal competition days with spectators being limited to exhibitors and family members. The livestock shows will be streamed live at Explore Okoboji-dot-com. Non livestock exhibits will be accepted until noon Monday, July 27 with the exhibits being displayed in the 4-H / FFA building.

Commercial booths and the BARnyard beer garden will also be closed for 2020.
