Iowa Reporting 669 Additional COVID-19 Cases; Dickinson County Reporting 19 Additional Cases Over Past Couple Of Days

(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health today (Wed.) is reporting 669 additional cases of COVID-19 in the state for the previous 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Wed.) morning. It’s one of the biggest single-day increases in recent weeks. It brings the total number of cases in the state since the pandemic started to 33,012. Of those, 26,232 have recovered. Seven additional deaths were reported bringing the total number of fatalities from the virus so far in Iowa to 739.

Locally, Dickinson county also experienced a jump in its cases. The county has reported 19 additional cases over the past couple of days, bringing the total to 286. 182 of those have recovered, meaning that as of late this (Wed.) morning there were 104 active cases. 

Clay county reported its first COVID-19-related death Tuesday.
