(Milford)– An investigation Tuesday afternoon into what authorities say were numerous complaints of underage people in possession of alcohol on boats in the Little Miller’s Bay area of West Lake Okoboji resulted in multiple citations being issued.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Department of Natural Resources checked a number of people, resulting in 28 citations being issued for minor in possession of alcohol. Authorities say those cited ranged in age from 18 to 20. Authorities say there was one referral to juvenile court for a minor in possession of alcohol.
Authorities say the case is an ongoing investigation and that more citations are expected.
