(Spencer)– An employee with the city of Spencer has been terminated after allegedly making a racial comment.
The city announced earlier in the week it was launching an internal investigation after a photo of the incident at the Spencer Wal-Mart store surfaced on social media.
In a post on the city’s Facebook page, the city of Spencer announced Thursday the employee involved in the incident has been terminated effective immediately.
The statement goes on to say “the city vehemently does not condone the use of racial slurs and racism, and we continue to strive to be a community that is welcoming to all.”
Other details into the incident weren’t available.
