Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association postpones Iowa Hall of Fame Induction Spectacular to Memorial Day Weekend of 2021

The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced that they are postponing their Iowa Hall of Fame Induction Spectacular Weekend which was scheduled for Labor Day weekend in the Iowa Great Lakes.

Executive Director Clay Norris explains.  “You know, the word association means people, and that’s what drove our decision.  We got calls from the Inductees themselves.  So, they were saying, I just don’t if we can come.  Then we just starting thinking, because, it is about honoring these Inductees, if it’s not a good Induction, if we have a small crowd, it just isn’t fair, so, we decided that it was in everybody’s best interest to postpone it to hopefully a time when things will be good, and Memorial Day seemed like a great weekend.”

He notes that the Association hopes to hold some events during Labor Day.  “We’re hoping to bring some other groups that are willing to come and make it smaller, outside type of concerts that weekend if we can.  Our hope is to still make Labor Day weekend musical around here, it just won’t be what it’s looked like in the past.”

The Association is holding outdoor musical activities with the first Live on Lake Street event featuring Jason Walsmith of The Nadas in front of the Roof Garden on Friday, July 3 at 7 pm.
