Spencer Man Arrested Tuesday Evening In Connection With An Incident In Early May Of This Year In Clay County

(Spencer)– A Spencer man was arrested Tuesday evening after he nearly collided with a Clay county sheriff’s deputy back in early May of this year.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over the vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Skylar Baber, around 10:30 am May 2nd, shortly after the incident, and that he was allegedly showing signs of impairment. An investigation involving a drug recognition expert with the Iowa State Patrol was conducted. Results received Tuesday from a urine sample indicated the presence of multiple controlled substances, including cocaine.

Baber was charged with operating while intoxicated…1st offense, and was booked into the Clay county jail.
