(St. Paul, Mn.)– A defined increase in testing in Minnesota has led to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases. The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting a single day high of 463 positive cases Tuesday, bringing the state’s total to 4,644. Nobles County saw in increase of 138 new cases, bringing their total to 615. Jackson County is up 3 to 12 positive cases, Martin County increased by 19 to 70 and Cottonwood increased by 9 to 20.
The number of deaths statewide has increased by 18 to 319. Only 8 counties in Minnesota have not reported a positive case.
Yesterday marked the largest day of testing in the state with 2,647 tests completed bringing the state total to just under 67,000. Total requiring hospitalization is now at 950, with 320 of those still in the hospital. The number in ICU dropped 1 to 119. 2,043 patients in Minnesota no longer need to be isolated.
