(Milford)– The city of Milford is considering a revision to an ordinance pertaining to the use of fireworks. The city council Monday set May 11th as the date for a public hearing on a proposed change to the ordinance that would allow residents to shoot off fireworks between the hours of 11:00 am and 10:00 pm July 3rd and 4th.
The council also Monday TABLED action on an ordinance limiting the amount of time vehicles can be parked in city parks. (Please note this is a correction to an earlier story indicating the ordinance had been adopted).
They also adopted an ordinance allowing for the placement of some stop signs at the intersection of 6th Street and “H” Avenue, near the football field; and they approved the purchase and placement of some signs in an alley behind Buchanan park in an effort to reduce the speed of traffic in that area. The council indicated Monday the signs will be in place until an ordinance can be adopted that would put an actual speed limit in place on alleyways in the city. The council took the action after hearing concerns from a neighbor about speeding in the alley and the close proximity of children in the nearby park.
