(Arnolds Park)– The Okoboji Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy program announced today (Tuesday) they have awarded slightly more than $66,000 in grants to six different projects in the Iowa Great Lakes.
$24,483 will go to Iowa Lakeside Laboratory for a water quality at Big Spirit Lake; $10,000 was awarded to the city of Milford for an addition to the Florence Park shelter house; $10,000 was allocated for the Disaster Recovery Fund to assist those affected by COVID-19; $9,089 will go to Hope Haven to renovate their building in Spirit Lake; $7,500 was awarded to Lutheran Lakeside Camp for trail improvements; and $5,000 will go to the Dickinson County Fair Board for a new cattle shed at the fairgrounds.
The 2020 Okoboji Foundation Youth in Philanthropy program set a new record this year by raising $82,000 for vital capital improvements in the lakes community.
