(Johnston)– The Iowa Department of Public Health this (Tues.) morning reported an additional 482 cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the total number of positive cases to date to 3,641. Officials say the majority of the new cases reported are the result of additional surveillance testing at packing plants.
Cherokee and Humboldt counties are reporting their first cases in today’s numbers.
In addition, the agency says four more deaths have been reported, with all of those at long-term care facilities.
214 Iowans were hospitalized with the virus, with 23 of those admitted in the last 24 hours. 89 of those patients were in intensive care units with 60 on ventilators.
