(Los Angeles, Ca.)– A Spencer woman is among those currently serving on the U.S. Navy Hospital ship anchored near Los Angeles, California during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lt. Mary Bass of Spencer is among those currently serving on the USNS Mercy, which was deployed to assist with COVID-19 response efforts. It serves as a referral hospital for non-COVID-19 patients currently admitted to shore-based hospitals, allowing those facilities to concentrate their efforts on COVID-19 cases.
