(St. Paul, MN)-Minnesota State Officials say that Wednesday, April 8, was the worst day for COVID-19 in Minnesota in terms of increased numbers. The state saw the largest single day in confirmed cases and deaths. Minnesota saw 88 new cases, bringing the total to 1,242. The number of deaths increased by 11 and now stands at 50 deaths from coronavirus.
Regionally, there is still is one case in Jackson County and 5 in Cottonwood County. Martin County increased to 35.
Statewide, over 32,000 tests have been completed in Minnesota. The total number of people requiring hospitalization is now at 293, with 145 of those still in the hospital. The number in ICU actually dropped to 63. 675 patients in Minnesota no longer need to be isolated.
