(Spencer)-The Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation remains available to assist area businesses and entrepreneurs in this challenging time.
CEO Kylie Miller says, the Corridor is serving as a clearing house to help steer business people to the appropriate assistance that they need. “There’s no doubt there’s concern, but there’s also just a real diligence in wanting to make sure that they’re exploring all their options, are familiar with the programs available and not missing any opportunities. So, Brian Dalziel on our team, he’s help a score of businesses probably in the past week, but I’ve also been helping quite a bit, too.”
Miller says they have several blanket recommendations in place for small business owners. “The first things we says is, make sure you’re speaking with your lender. Make sure you’re developing that strong relationship with your banker because a lot of these programs are really banker dependent. If you just want to understand them, understand the deadlines, who they’re for and whether you qualify, we can certainly help in that regard. The last thing we says is, now is a great time with fewer customers, to really look at how to build your business and your own business acumen individually. So, don’t miss this opportunity to improve your skill set and improve the programs in your business.”
