(Arnolds Park)– A disaster recovery fund has been established by the Okoboji Foundation to support those populations in the Iowa Great Lakes Community that are most negatively impacted by COVID-19. Holly Skopec, Interim President of the Okoboji Foundation, says their board of directors has committed an immediate $10,000 to the fund and that they have since received an additional $26,000 in donations to it since the word has gotten out…
“So this disaster recovery fund provides an opportunity for donors to give with the reassurance that their donations are being used quickly, and to move resources where they’re needed most to adapt to whatever the evolving needs may be at any given point during this pandemic.”
Skopec explains how the application process will work…
“We have a committee set up currently that will review as the applications come in. They can either call the office at 712-332-7177 or send us an email at info@okobojifoundation.org and let us know what their needs are. We’re working very closely with Dickinson County Emergency Management and Great Lakes Regional Hospital to see what needs they have and what people have brought to them as well. There’s really no application process per se, other than just kind of reaching out to us and letting us know what needs there are.”
Skopec says those interested in donating may do so by going to okobojifoundation.org. Click on Okoboji Foundation Disaster Recovery Fund.
