Iowa Dept. Of Public Health Releases Updated COVID-19 Numbers

(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public released updated numbers for COVID-19 early this (Tuesday) afternoon.

The department is reporting 73 additional positive cases in the state, bringing the total to 497 since the outbreak began. One additional death is also being reported today (Tuesday), involving an individual from Muscatine county who was between 41 and 60 years of age. 

The updated number of positive cases includes the one case from Clay county reported earlier in the day, along with two new cases in Sioux county. Of the new cases reported today (Tuesday), those were the only ones in northwest Iowa. 

The department says there have been a total of 6,888 negative tests for COVID-19 to date in Iowa, which includes testing by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.
