Man Accused Of Assaulting Congressman Steve King Sentenced To Two Years’ Probation

(Sioux City)– A man who was charged for assaulting Congressman Steve King has been sentenced in U.S. District Court to two years’ probation.

27-year-old Blake Gibbins of Lafayette, Colorado was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to one count of assaulting a member of congress.

Gibbins admitted that on March 22nd, 2019, he approached a table where King was seated at a Fort Dodge restaurant and threw a glass of water on the Congressman.

Gibbins was also ordered to perform 200 hours of community service during his first year of probation.
