(Spirit Lake)– A two-vehicle collision Thursday at the intersection of Highway 71 and 34th Street in Spirit Lake sent one person to the hospital.
Police say Kris Sundall of Milford was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban southbound on Highway 71 and Michael Koenecke of Spirit Lake was driving a 2005 Chevrolet northbound. Officers say Koenecke was attempting to make a left turn when the two vehicles collided.
Koenecke was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare. No injuries were reported to Sundall.
Koenecke was cited for failure to yield.
$10,000 in damage was estimated to the Suburban driven by Sundall; damage to the Chevrolet driven by Koenecke was estimated at $8,000.
The collision took place shortly after 4:30 pm.
