(Arnolds Park)-Local Chambers of Commerce are encouraging residents to celebrate Leap of Kindness Day on Saturday, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
With the Leap Year, area Chambers of Commerce are encouraging residents to spread kindness on “Leap of Kindness Day,” February 29.
Kiley Zankowski, Director of Membership and Events with the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber explains. “Leap of Kindness is really a celebration with that extra day we get this year and what we can do to make a difference in that extra day. The Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to encourage and challenge our local businesses and local communities to really get involved and spread kindness on this extra day, and really throughout the entire month of February leading up to it.”
She notes that there are several suggested ways to participate. “We have all sorts of ideas for you, we’ve got different activities. People are doing anything from a food drive to a clothing drive, and another way that we’re really encouraging people is to download the Leap of Kindness Day card. They can find that on our website at okobojichamber.com. You just download those and then you fill out a nice message to someone that means something to you, thanking them for maybe their service to our community or their service to you personally, and then just sharing it with them. Spread kindness, give them a little extra love on this special day we’re getting this year.”
